Zetec se 1.4 150hp project.

I own a focus mk1 rave built, a puma .k1 under transformation and a fiesta 1.25i that i'm saving for my eldest, but using it meanwile.
I have no lack of Zetecs, and this is not counting my past cars and Zetec experience.
Although people say that the Zetec SE (Yamaha based Ford sigma) is not a serviceable engine, as an engineer, the reply is clear! they are built and not welded they must be serviceable...you just have to know the secrets. Guess what: I do!

The puma mk1 raced on s1400 and s1600 rally series. The s1400 was factory built based engine, the s1600 was fully purpose built.
That means that you can polish the 1.4 Zetec SE to Honda territory over 100bhp/ltr.
There are people running 1.4 with almost 200 bhp, so 150bhp should be rather easy to obtain.

I've donated my 1.4 105bhp engine+ecu to my friend marco (as my own puma is getting the st170'a one... as the st170 will be getting the t5 2.3 one) so his poorly treated, almost dead engine, was just laying around in the workshop... and i just got it into the stand for a full blue printing and then tunning.

Several torque wrenches have been brought, cilinder honing tools, cilinder mounting tools and the crucial angle counter and micrometer...oh of course, how could I forget the dremel and the 2 digital scales... we're ready to rock!

Part1
And so it begins:
Clearly, some idiot have already fooled arround this engine and thought it would be a good idea to paint it gold with non heat resistant paint ... didn't work... fortunately.

But i've got all the help I need:
7yo Mike and his 5yo syster Liv helped me dismantle the intake manifold, water pump, alternator, AC compressor and even the PCV! wow
It's curious that this engine will probably find it's way into the Fiesta, as i don't believe the 1.25 will survive too long under my right foot.
The only one that will actually leverage this engine on her little fiesta - Maddie - couldn't care less... unless it's a tiktok enabled hatefful crapple iphone, she doesn't acknoledge its existence!
Fortunately, the other 2 love mechanical working and "beyond dirty" fingernails.

Disasembly continues and new tools are needed to pull the pulley, so we have to wait.
So far:
1- engine was out of time! I'm afraid of yhr valves that i'll encounter further on.
2- engine came from (or got a head from) a spanish second hand supplyer (probably junkyard) and looking at the wear on the camms, probably from a much older car... the cam journals do not look like 80k km.
3- the engine had recently been serviced for the timing chain... but the main damper puley is the original one.
4- the warer pump and all the rust signal tap water and being original factory one, not good considering its plastic
I guess we'll have to wait and see.

More to follow.
So far it is disasembly, but i'll lay the tricks down as I progress this post. Stay tuned.
